FEMA Housing ReQuirements
This was a consulting project to help FEMA modernize their housing management system. I researched the entire lifecycle of a FEMA home from cradle to grave to understand all the people and data involved in order to generate requirements for a new system.
Highlights
I visited numerous FEMA sites around the country, interviewed dozens of people and observed how they work to understand what data they use and need.
After all the research, the creation of lifecycle maps, personas and scenarios, we came together with our client to workshop an inspection app.
This all lead to the creation of a POC application that allowed inspectors to ... inspect FEMA houses from a mobile device. FEMA ended up completely adopting this application from field testing since it sped up their inspections so much.
